Payment Data
- Payment transactions are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the Platform
- Process predictions and calculate probabilities
- Send notifications (in-app and email) about market resolutions, friend requests, and badges
- Improve the Platform through analytics

4. Cookies and Tracking
We use the following cookies and tracking technologies:
- Authentication cookie (next-auth session): Required for login functionality. Essential cookie.
- Theme preference (localStorage): Stores your light/dark mode preference. Not transmitted to our servers.
- Google Analytics (GA4): Collects anonymized usage data including pages visited, session duration, and device type. You can opt out using browser extensions or settings.
We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data to advertisers.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers listed in Section 3, strictly for operating the Platform
- Law enforcement, if required by law or valid legal process
- Other users, limited to: your display name, username, predictions, comments, and badges (public profile information)
Your email address is never shared with other users.
6. AI and Data Processing
- The Platform uses Anthropic's Claude AI for chat assistance, market analysis, and content translation.
- Chat conversations may be processed by Anthropic's API. Anthropic's data processing terms apply.
- AI country access interviews are stored as conversations and may be reviewed for quality purposes.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your data
- Object to certain processing activities

8. Children's Privacy
The Platform is available to users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete it promptly.
For users between 13 and 18, we recommend parental or guardian oversight.
9. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted upon account deletion request.
- Predictions and trades: Retained for Platform functionality and historical accuracy tracking.
- Chat conversations: Retained for 12 months, then automatically deleted.
- Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized after 26 months (Google Analytics default).
10. Security
We implement the following security measures:
- Passwords hashed with bcrypt (12 rounds)
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all connections
- Rate limiting on all API endpoints
- Account lockout after 10 failed login attempts
- Content Security Policy (CSP) headers
- HSTS with 2-year max-age
- Input validation and HTML sanitization
- Timing-safe token comparison for internal APIs

11. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Platform, you consent to these transfers. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or via email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
